Fun and Healthy On-the-Road Snacking

On-the-Road Series:

Build Your Own Snack Bar

Here’s another quick idea for going on the road with kids.

Line up jars or packages of snack food and let your kids fill up a bowl with the various items. Transfer to a jar or bag for on-the-road snacking.

The boys were excited to make their snack bags and even more excited to eat them. And the way our timing ended up on Saturday, their bags plus a piece of fruit became a simple travel lunch.

In these snack bags: almonds, peanuts, raisins, banana chips, dried pineapples, marshmallows, goldfish, dark chocolate covered bananas and coconut, walnuts, sunflower seeds.
